Call: it is the fastest way

An active leak is worth a phone call straight away - put a bucket under it and move what you can while you wait. For a repair or a replacement, the same call books the inspection, and the figure comes in writing before any work starts.

When you call

What helps us quote

None of it is required, and nobody minds "I don't know" - it just shortens the first conversation.

  • Roughly how old the roof is, if you know
  • What the covering is - shingle, tile, metal or flat
  • What you are seeing - a stain, a drip, lifted or missing pieces
  • Whether it is a house, a condo or an apartment building
Where we work

Reading, and the areas around it

The pin is the center of Reading, not an office - this is a service-area business and the survey comes to you. Reading and the towns that touch it. The permit comes from each town separately; the registration that protects you is statewide.

What happens next

Four steps, no surprises

Free inspection, a written contract, and the permit pulled by us rather than you.

01

Call or message

Tell us the address and which town it is in. The permit comes from that town's building department and each has its own fee schedule and diary -- though the registration that actually protects you is statewide and does not change at the town line.

02

Survey, roof and roof space

Both together. Outside: the slope and the details that fail. Inside: the layer count, the deck type, and the things a New England roof space tells you -- old water tracks above the wall plate, frost on the deck, insulation flattened and dark in one patch.

03

Written contract, then the price

In writing, as this state requires over $1,000, with the registration number on it. Decking as a rate per sheet. Ice barrier coverage and ventilation stated rather than assumed. Read it before you sign anything, and check the number if you want to.

04

We pull the permit, then the work

Obtaining the permit is the registered contractor's job under c. 142A and doing it ourselves is what keeps your Guaranty Fund eligibility intact. Then the work, the inspection, and a before-and-after set of photographs that is yours whatever happens next.
